The Starhill, located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s most famous shopping belt Bukit Bintang, is rolling out the red carpet to fans of top global brands from Europe and around the world come Q1 2021, when it opens its doors with a slew of Malaysia’s first-ever exclusive flagship stores and new-to-market concepts and experiences. Previously known as Starhill Gallery, this iconic shopping destination for tourists and locals alike first announced its transformation plans and new identity as The Starhill in October last year.
The Starhill will be reinforcing its position as the Home of the Tastemakers, where the mall will redefine Kuala Lumpur’s shopping scene in a whole new concept that infuses hospitality into the retail experience. Patrons will shop and stay in a refined home-like environment replete with tasteful, thoughtful touches of true tastemakers.
“Amidst the current challenging times for the retail industry, we are delighted to share exciting news today after keeping things under wraps since The Starhill started renovation works a year ago. We will be welcoming a number of top global brands to complement the brands that our patrons have come to love in The Starhill over the years. Tenants will showcase refreshed new concepts in order to offer both our loyal clientele and new shoppers a whole new experience in our Home of the Tastemakers. Our transformed boutique mall presents four floors of premium retail environment, designed to defy the ever-prevalent cookie cutter mall trend and to offer every visitor more meaning, authenticity and connection. This new incarnation of The Starhill is a crucial undertaking that strengthens our position at the forefront of the fast-changing and fluid retail landscape,” said Mr Joseph Yeoh, Vice President of YTL Land & Development Bhd.
“Although we were faced with some unexpected circumstances due to the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) to curb the pandemic spread, we are thankful that our renovation timeline caught up with delays and has remained on track. The Starhill is set to welcome patrons in early 2021,” he added.
